Bishop Reginald C. Witherspoon, Sr. – A Visionary Leader and Kingdom Trailblazer
Bishop Reginald C. Witherspoon, Sr., is a dynamic and anointed leader carrying a Kingdom “now” anointing, uniquely positioned to impact this generation with visionary leadership and transformative ministry. As the Senior Pastor of Mt. Calvary Christian Center Church of God in Christ, he has faithfully shepherded the congregation for 38 years, demonstrating unwavering commitment to spiritual growth, community transformation, and innovative leadership.
Bishop Witherspoon is more than a pastor—he is a ministerial visionary, creative strategist, and a gatekeeper to the city of Seattle. His passion for holistic ministry extends beyond the church walls, leading initiatives that bring healing, reconciliation, and empowerment to individuals and communities.
A dedicated advocate for youth and social justice, Bishop Witherspoon served as a Chaplain and facilitator of group sessions with Juvenile Detention, mentoring and restoring hope to young men at critical crossroads in life. His heart for unity and transformation led him to host the groundbreaking “Gathering the Sons” dinner, an initiative that brought together young men from opposing gangs to engage in dialogue, foster healing, and builing bridges of hope and reconciliation.
His innovative mindset is exemplified in the creation of B.R.I.D.G.E., a community development corporation focused on economic empowerment, social services, and community advancement. Recognizing the need for a safe and nurturing space for young people, he founded the Joshua Generation Teen Center, a state-of-the-art facility featuring an interactive computer center, a fully equipped kitchen, an advanced electronic and communication theater, and a dedicated area for ministry services. Through strategic planning, Bishop Witherspoon established the church’s digital network, launched its website, and successfully paid off the mortgage on all church facilities—a testament to his visionary leadership and financial stewardship.
Bishop Witherspoon is widely recognized as a mastermind of innovative and transformational leadership, sought after for his ability to navigate complex issues, mediate conflicts, and negotiate solutions within Seattle’s governmental agencies and beyond. His apostolic influence extends globally, as he is frequently invited to conferences, workshops, and high-level consultations, equipping leaders and inspiring change-makers.

Bishop Witherspoon's commitment to education and theological excellence is reflected in his academic achievements. He studied at Seattle Central Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries from Northwest University. He earned a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and was conferred an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree from Northwest University in recognition of his distinguished contributions to ministry and leadership.
His expertise has positioned him as a trusted consultant for organizations such as World Vision Ministries and a Volunteer Coordinator for Promise Keepers, reinforcing his dedication to global missions and discipleship. In addition, he has served as a Chaplain for the Seattle Fire Department, providing spiritual guidance and support in moments of crisis.
A Legacy of Leadership and Family

Calvary Christian Center with integrity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to Kingdom advancement. His leadership has empowered countless individuals, raised up dynamic leaders, and ushered in spiritual renewal throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
At the heart of his ministry is his loving partnership with Lady Laura Witherspoon, his devoted wife of 43 years. Their marriage is a testament to God’s faithfulness and grace, and together they have raised four wonderful children and are the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren. Their legacy is one of faith, family, and a relentless pursuit of God’s purpose.
Bishop Reginald C. Witherspoon, Sr., stands as a trailblazer in Kingdom leadership, a champion for the marginalized, and a voice of wisdom and reconciliation. His life's work continues to leave an indelible mark on the world—one soul, one family, and one community at a time.
Laura N. Witherspoon
Lady Laura N. Witherspoon accepted the Lord in her life at the tender age of 12, at
True Vine COGIC in Los Angeles, CA, under the leadership of C.E. Williams,
where she was born and raised. Her family later relocated to Seattle, WA. She
joined and faithfully served at the Greater Revival COGIC, under the leadership
of Superintendent Luther James and Mother Anna Louise Green. In 1981, Lady
Laura and Bishop Reggie Witherspoon married; God blessed them with their “first ministry” to each other and their four children, Reggie Jr, LaTaunya, Romell (Tiana), and
Lakayla. She often declares “the two greatest investments you could ever
make in life, is in your relationship with God, and the family He entrusted to
you!”
Lady Laura’s passion for the success of the family and
ministry is exemplified through her years of active and unending support she provides
for her husband. There is no doubt she and her husband epitomize a unique
portrait of a dynamic dual and a fun-loving ministry team. Lady Laura often
publicly proclaims what an honor it is to have been chosen by God to serve
alongside her husband, to love on and to encourage His people.
Lady Laura received her education from Highline Community College, and
Northwest University where she earned a degree in Psychology. She
faithfully serves as Executive Director of the Women’s Affairs Ministry for
over 38 years. She has been instrumental in implementing several ministries
designed to meet the needs of the total woman. Lady Laura is quite the
innovative visionary. She founded such unique and
viable ministries such as: “H.i.- H.i.l.l.s®” (Hearts Interconnected Help
Inspire Leading Ladies Sisterhood), a unique ministry specifically designed to
encourage, inspire and empower pastors’ wives; P.R.E.T.T.E.E. Girls Club, a
ministry designed for girls ages 7-12 (Princess reflecting excellence through
training, education and empowerment), King and Queen Summit, Senior Servants
Ministry, a ministry designed to cater to the needs and welfare of senior
members… and more.
In 2012, Lady Laura was appointed as Assistant President of the COGIC
Washington State Jurisdiction Pastors Wives Unit for the Seattle region. In
2015, she was appointed as Administrative Assistant to the Jurisdictional
Supervisor, Mother Mary Jean McGraw, of the Washington Northwest Ecclesiastical
Jurisdiction, under the Leadership of the late Bishop James E. Hicks. Since her
husband’s elevation to the bishopric, she currently serves as a member of the Executive
Committee of the WNEJ Department of Women. Lady Laura serves as the Leading Lady
of the Pastor’s and Elders wives’ unit, under the direction of Supervisor Jean
McGraw.
Lady Laura has served as Couples Facilitator (alongside her husband) for
the National COGIC GCPE Shepherd’s
Conference, under the leadership of Chairman Michael Eddy. Her outstanding
sense of humor, coupled with her passion for marriage and the family, continues
to inspire and edify couples both near and far.
